What is epidural labor analgesia?
Feb 25, 2022
Epidural labor pain relief (commonly known as: painless labor), the epidural space is a potential space outside the spinal canal filled with nerve roots. In this position, the tube (epidural catheter) is used to puncture the waist with an epidural needle. After reaching the epidural space, a small catheter is introduced through the puncture needle as a route of administration of labor analgesia. During labor, pain medication is injected through this catheter into the epidural space and around the nerves to continuously control labor pain.
