What is contrast-enhanced ultrasound

Nov 24, 2022

Contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) is a method of imaging with ultrasound contrast agent. Ultrasonic contrast agent is a bubble liquid with a diameter of several microns. By using the bubble liquid with strong dispersing properties to ultrasound, ultrasonic contrast agent is clinically injected into human blood vessels to enhance the ultrasonic Doppler signal of blood flow, improve the clarity and resolution of ultrasound images, enhance the intravascular echo, and better display the microcirculation blood perfusion.

Ceus can effectively enhance the two-dimensional ultrasound imaging and blood flow Doppler signal of all organs, including myocardium, abdominal organs, brain and other substantive organs, and reflect and observe the blood perfusion of normal tissues and diseased tissues.

Ceus can effectively distinguish blood supply Doppler signals in parenchymal organs, and better discover abnormal structures, including abnormal blood perfusion in lesions, which is a very useful diagnostic method.
