What are subcutaneous and intradermal injections? what is the difference between the two

Feb 10, 2022

Subcutaneous injection is the injection of the drug into the soft tissue under the skin. (Many injections are like this, generally choose the upper arm and the outer side of the thigh)

Intradermal injection is the injection of the drug into the skin below the epidermis, usually above the dermis, but not to the subcutaneous tissue. (Some vaccines are mostly like this, as well as drug susceptibility tests, and frontal operations for local anesthesia)

The intramuscular injection site is deeper, deep into the muscle tissue. (Generally the needles on PP are like this)
