The location of the lumbar puncture needle
Dec 05, 2022
Generally, the fourth and fifth interspaces of the lumbar spine or the fifth and first interspaces of the lumbar pentacral are selected for puncture. There is no nerve root in this place, so many of them are relatively safe.
This is a common procedure that can be done at the bedside without a special trip to the operating room. This procedure and examination can be done by applying a local anesthetic at the bedside. Moreover, it is relatively simple and not complicated. As long as the operation procedures are smooth and the patients actively cooperate, it will be completed soon.
