The injection site of an intramuscular needle

Connecting method: from the anterior superior iliac spine to the coccyx, the outer third of the line is the injection site. When intramuscular injection in buttocks, in order to relax local muscles and relieve pain and discomfort, the following positions can be used:

Side decubitus: upper leg straight and relaxed, lower leg slightly bent.

Prone position: tiptoe opposite, heel parted, head tilted to one side.
