The difference between white and stainless steel

Jul 25, 2022

The differences between white steel (high speed steel) and stainless steel are:

1. White steel is used to manufacture all kinds of cutting tools. Such as turning tool, drill, hob, machine saw blade and high requirements of the mold. Stainless steel is widely used in curtain wall, side wall, roof and other building purposes.

2. White steel is a kind of alloy steel with complex composition, containing tungsten, molybdenum, chromium, vanadium, cobalt and other carbide forming elements. Stainless steel products due to different uses, its processing technology and raw material quality requirements are also different.

3. After the correct heat treatment of tungsten and molybdenum high speed steels, the Hardness of Rockwell can reach above 63, and the hardness of cobalt high speed steels is above 65. 440 stainless steel hardness can reach 58HRC.
