The characteristics and clinical application of a new type of biopsy puncture needle

Dec 17, 2021

Objective To introduce a new type of coaxial split cutting biopsy puncture needle design concept. The method introduces and compares the structure of the existing cutting biopsy puncture needle and the new coaxial split biopsy puncture needle and their advantages and disadvantages. The author uses 18G×10cm outer needle and 20G×15cm coaxial split biopsy cutting needle to assemble a new type of biopsy needle. Shaft split cutting biopsy puncture needle prototype, and puncture biopsy of lung mass cases. Results The existing cutting biopsy puncture needles are mostly used for one puncture and one-time sampling. In order to obtain satisfactory pathological tissues, multiple punctures are often required. Even if the coaxial technique is applied, it is still necessary to first puncture with an 18G-16G trocar to establish a working channel for the 20G or 18G cutting biopsy needle, which will increase puncture complications. The new coaxial split-type cutting biopsy needle has the advantages of multiple needle insertions and multiple points of material at one time, saving time and reducing patient pain; preventing tumor metastasis along the needle track; applying the fine needle guidance technology of the new coaxial split-type cutting biopsy needle , Reduce the complications of pneumothorax and hemoptysis; Eliminate the ejection resistance of the chest wall to the biopsy cutting needle. Conclusion The new coaxial split biopsy puncture has important clinical significance for lung mass biopsy (especially deep small lesions), which improves the positive rate and correct diagnosis rate, and reduces complications. This type of puncture needle technology is simple and easy to implement. It is a safe and effective diagnostic measure.
