3.About Cold Stamping

Cold stamping or sheet stamping is a process in which sheet metal is cut off or formed under pressure in the die.

Daily necessities, such as aluminum POTS, lunch boxes, washbasins, etc., are made by cold stamping.To make a lunch box, for example, you first need to cut out a rectangular blank with four rounded corners, and then use a punch to press the blank into a concave die to form.In the drawing process, the flat sheet material becomes a box with four sides bent vertically upward, and the material at four corners is piled up and creases can be seen.

Automotive parts processed by cold stamping include: engine oil sump, brake bottom plate, automobile frame and most body parts.These parts are generally after blanking, punching, deep drawing, bending, flanging, dressing and other processes and forming.In order to manufacture a cold stamping part, a die must be prepared.The die is usually divided into two pieces, one of which is installed above the press and can slide up and down, the other is installed below the press and fixed.During production, the billet is placed between the two punching dies. When the upper and lower dies are closed, the stamping process is completed.Stamping process has high productivity and can produce complex shapes and high precision parts.
