Selection of Epidural Needle in Pain Treatment

Objective To introduce an epidural puncture needle and puncture technique with small trauma, easy operation, obvious sensation, and conforming to the principle of minimally invasive. Methods 235 cases of epidural space puncture with 7G anesthesia needle were selected, a total of 1000 cases were classified as 7G group; 186 cases with 8G anesthesia needle were used for epidural puncture a total of 1,000 times, classified as 8G group. 358 cases of epidural puncture with 16G Tuohy needle were classified as T-needle group with a total of 1000 cases, and the complications after puncture in the 3 groups were compared. Results The incidence of low back pain after puncture in the three groups was 0.3%, 0.5%, and 45.2%, the incidence of puncture of the dura mater were 0.6%, 0.4%, and 0.3%, and the incidence of nerve root injury was 0.4%, 0.4%, and 0.4%. 0.3%, 0.4%, and the positive rates of complications after puncture were 4.3%, 4.4%, and 46.2%, respectively. There was no statistical difference between the 7G group and the 8G group after statistical treatment (P>0.05), and the 8G group was the same as the Tuohy needle group The difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion Both 7G needle and 8G needle puncture have the advantages of less trauma and easy operation, but the 7G needle body is easy to bend and the needle hole is small and easy to be blocked. The 8G needle does not have this shortcoming and the sense of failure is more obvious. It can be popularized and applied in pain treatment.
