B-mode ultrasound examinations are often used to determine the puncture point and needle depth, and attention should be paid to refer to the X-ray examination results and physical examination.

For those with encapsulated effusion and a small amount of effusion, puncture or ultrasound-guided puncture must be performed after X-ray inspection and B-mode ultrasonic inspection mark positioning.

Pneumothorax puncture site

With reference to the results of chest fluoroscopy or filming, the puncture point is at the mid-clavicular line of the 2nd to 3rd intercostal space, or the anterior axillary line of the 4th to 5th intercostal space.

If it is tension pneumothorax, when X-ray examination is not possible in critical condition, direct diagnostic puncture can be performed according to the above-mentioned parts.
