Is the machining sequence of CNC important? How to divide CNC processing stage?

Jul 10, 2021

There are often several surfaces to be processed on a CNC machining workpiece. These surfaces not only have certain accuracy requirements, but also have certain position requirements between the surfaces. In order to achieve these precision requirements, CNC processing of the surface of the processing order can not be arranged at will, and must follow a certain principle, this is the choice of positioning datum and conversion determines the processing order, as well as the principle of preparing the positioning datum for the subsequent process. Next, what is the importance of CNC processing sequence?

1, before the important surface processing, the precision datum should be a rest, in order to ensure the processing accuracy of the important surface.

2. After finishing the benchmark, the main surface with higher precision requirements should be roughed, semi-finished and finished. Especially high precision requirements of the surface also need to finish.

3. The surface as the precision benchmark should be processed at the beginning of the CNC machining process, because it is used to locate other surfaces in the subsequent process. That is, "benchmark first, then others".

4, in the processing of precision datum, need to use rough datum positioning. In single piece, small batch production, or even batch production, for castings and forgings with complex shape or large size, as well as blanks with large size error, the marking process should be arranged first before the machining procedure, in order to provide alignment datum for fine machining.

5. For processes that are prone to waste products, finishing and finishing can be properly placed in front, and some minor small surface processing can be placed behind.

CNC processing process should not only pay attention to the order also need to pay attention to the division of CNC processing stage, specific how to do it?

When the processing quality of parts is higher, it is often impossible to use a process to meet the requirements, but to use several processes to gradually achieve the required processing quality. In order to ensure the quality of CNC processing and reasonable use of equipment, manpower, parts of the processing process is usually different according to the nature of the process, can be divided into four stages; Rough, semi - finish, finish and finish.

The division of CNC processing stage should be flexibly mastered according to the quality requirements, structural characteristics and production program of the parts, and should not be absolute. Tools with low processing quality requirements, good tool stiffness, high blank precision, small processing allowance and small production program may not be divided into processing stages. The stiffness of the heavy workpiece is good, because of the clamping and transportation and time consuming, often in a clamping to complete all the rough, finish processing.

For the workpiece is not divided into the processing stage, in order to reduce the impact of various deformation on the quality of processing in rough machining, should loosen the stepping mechanism after rough machining, parking for a period of time, so that the workpiece is fully deformed, and then re-tighten with a smaller stepping force, for finishing.
