Is PDO thread pin promotion safe? What are the possible side effects?

Dec 03, 2021

The treatment is very safe. The side effects are actually much milder than fillers (fillers can even cause skin death and blindness). Because the PDO line is inserted through a needle rather than surgically, and is absorbed within 6-8 months, many side effects (such as infection and disconnection) associated with the old line lifting procedure are also minimized.

Depending on the type of thread used and the area treated, bruising may or may not occur. For the High Definition K-lift I did at the clinic, there was almost no bruising. Expect some mild swelling and soreness 3 to 5 days after surgery, and tightness (mild) for up to 2 weeks. There may also be a slight temporary pitting in the skin - which subsides after a few days.

Some of the side effects are related to the insertion technique and the type of thread used. These include surface pitting, line migration or even prolapse, facial asymmetry, prolonged pain and prolonged dimples. PDO threads are not equal -- your doctor's training in this procedure is also extremely important to ensure good results and minimize side effects from your procedure.

Finally, more serious side effects can occur, although they are rare. These include infection, nerve damage, nodule formation, and salivary duct damage. The face has a very complex anatomy. In-depth anatomical knowledge is required to perform PDO thread promotion well and avoid serious side effects.
