How to do renal needle biopsy
May 18, 2022
Renal biopsy is a routine examination in nephrology, which plays a very important role in determining the pathological type of renal disease, formulating treatment plans and judging prognosis. Before kidney puncture, the blood coagulation function, platelet condition, and blood pressure of the human body should be evaluated first, so that the blood pressure should be less than 160/80mmHg, so as to avoid possible bleeding during the puncture process. At present, puncture is carried out under the guidance of color ultrasound, so related complications will be avoided, that is, there will be no major complications such as damage to surrounding tissues, organs, and nerves. Under the color Doppler ultrasound, it can be clearly seen that the puncture needle is out of shape in the human body. When the puncture needle reaches the kidney, a piece of kidney tissue with a length of about 1.5cm-1.8cm can be taken out for pathological examination. After the puncture, compress the local puncture point, and instruct the patient to lie on the bed for 24 hours, especially in the first 6 hours, to stay in bed absolutely, not to turn over, let alone sit up, avoid strenuous activities for 1 month after the puncture, to avoid renal bleeding. Perirenal hematoma may occur during the puncture process. Generally, this situation does not require special attention and can be absorbed by itself, but the rest time needs to be extended.
