How to choose pressure vessel flange

Flange is selected for a container cylinder or head with an inner diameter of Di, design pressure of p and design temperature of t.

1. According to the nominal diameter DN of the container and the design pressure p, the structure type of the flange is preliminatively determined by referring to JB/T4700 Table 1. (Type A flat welded flange, Type B flat welded flange or long neck butt welded flange)

2, according to the design pressure p of the container, design temperature t and the flange material to be used, according to JB/T4700 Table 6 or 7 (maximum allowable working pressure gauge) to determine the selected flange PN.

3. Check JB/T4700 Table 1 again according to PN and DN to verify whether the flange type preliminatively determined meets the requirements. If not, change the flange type or material and re-determine PN.

4. Check the flange size according to JB/T4701(A) or 4702(B) or 4703(long neck butt welding).
