How the Manners Bone Marrow Biopsy Needle Works?
Nov 19, 2021
A Manners Bone Marrow Biopsy Needle can be used to both aspirate bone marrow and obtain core biopsy samples. Comprised of an inner stylet and outer cannula with handle and graduated etched markings spaced in 1 cm intervals, the Manners Bone Marrow Biopsy Needle features both a probe guide and a marked probe. The marked probe helps in the extraction of the bone marrow sample from the needle while the probe guide facilitates the insertion of the marked probe through the distal end of the needle, which is then advanced forward, moving and expelling the sample via the needle handle. And each needle comes with a luer cap that prevents the backflow of blood during the needle's insertion.
Certain Manners Bone Marrow Biopsy Needle models also feature a stainless steel marrow extraction cannula in either a Canoe or Tweezer design—that fits inside the needle to assist with the capture and retrieval of specimens. These models are provided with two needle vices to cap the needle and stylet before disposal.
