By use:

Classification by metallographic organization:

1. Austenitic stainless steel: as the name implies, it is stainless steel with austenitic structure at room temperature. The austenite structure is stable with Ni 8%~10%, Cr 18% and C 0.1%. Austenitic stainless steel is non-magnetic and has high toughness and plasticity. 201, 202, 301, 304, 316, 309, 321 are austenitic stainless steel. 2 ferritic stainless steel: is in the use of the ferrite structure of stainless steel. It has a body centered cubic crystal structure and contains 11%~30% chromium. Generally does not contain nickel, sometimes also contains a small amount of Mo, Ti, Nb and other elements, with large thermal conductivity, small expansion coefficient, good oxidation resistance, excellent stress corrosion resistance and other characteristics, mainly used for the manufacture of water vapor resistance, water resistance and oxidation acid corrosion components.

3 martensitic stainless steel: through heat treatment can adjust its mechanical properties of stainless steel, popularly speaking, is a class of hardened stainless steel. The typical brand is Cr13. After quenching hardness is higher, different tempering temperature has different combination of strength and toughness, the standard martensitic stainless steel is: 403, 410, 414, 416, 416(Se), 420, 431, 440A, 440B and 440C.

4. Austenite - ferritic duplex stainless steel: is austenite and ferrite structure of about half of the stainless steel. Ni content in 3%~10%, Cr content in 18%~28%. Some steels also contain Mo, Cu, Si, Nb, Ti, N and other alloying elements. This kind of steel has the characteristics of both austenitic and ferritic stainless steel, but also maintains the 475℃ brittleness of ferritic stainless steel, high thermal conductivity, and has the characteristics of superplasticity. Duplex stainless steel has excellent corrosion resistance and is a nickel-saving stainless steel.

5 precipitation hardening stainless steel: Precipitation hardening stainless steel (precipitation hardening stainless steel) refers to the addition of different types and amounts of enhanced elements on the basis of stainless steel chemical composition, precipitation hardening process precipitation of different types and amounts of carbides, nitride, carbonitride and intermetallic compounds, Both improve the strength of steel and maintain enough toughness of a class of high strength stainless steel, referred to as PH steel.
