Lumbar puncture, abbreviated as lumbar puncture, is a commonly used examination method in medicine. It extracts a certain amount of cerebrospinal fluid from the intervertebral space of the patient for clinical diagnosis and analysis.
Indications: 1. Diagnosis and differential diagnosis of inflammatory diseases of the central nervous system.
2. Diagnosis and differential diagnosis of cerebrovascular accident.
3. Diagnosis and treatment of neoplastic diseases.
The main purpose of lumbar puncture: 1. To understand the intracranial pressure and whether the cerebrospinal fluid circulation is smooth;
2. Retain cerebrospinal fluid for testing;
3. Release bloody cerebrospinal fluid or high-protein cerebrospinal fluid;
4. Intrathecal injection (drug injection).
Precautions: 1. Strict aseptic operation to avoid microvascular damage during puncture.
2. If the patient has abnormal changes in breathing, pulse, pale complexion, etc. during puncture, the operation should be stopped immediately.
3. During intrathecal administration, an equal volume of cerebrospinal fluid should be released first, and then an equal volume of drug injection should be given.
4. Postoperatively, lying on the back for 4 to 6 hours can avoid postoperative hypotensive headache.
Contraindications: 1. Patients with elevated intracranial pressure.
2. Shock, exhausted or endangered patients.
3. Local skin (near the puncture point) with inflammation.
4. Patients with bleeding disorders.
