Brass globe valves

Globe valve refers to the closing piece (disc) along the center line of the valve seat movement. Due to this kind of valve stem open or close stroke is relatively short, and has a very reliable cut off function, and because of the change of the valve seat opening and the stroke of the disc is directly proportional, very suitable for flow regulation. This type of valve is therefore ideal for use as a cut-off or regulator and throttling.

Once the disc of globe valve is removed from the closed position, there is no contact between the valve seat and the sealing surface of the disc. Therefore, the mechanical wear of the sealing surface is very small, so its sealing performance is very good. The disadvantage is that the particles in the flowing medium may be clamped between the sealing surface. However, if the disc is made of steel or porcelain balls, the problem will be solved. Because the seats and discs of most globe valves are easy to repair or replace, and the entire valve does not need to be removed from the line to repair or replace the sealing element, this is ideal for soldering the valve and line together.

Globe valves also have a higher minimum resistance than most other types of valves because of the change in the direction of flow of media through these valves. However, depending on the body configuration and stem layout relative to the inlet and outlet channels, this condition can be improved. At the same time. Due to the small travel between the opening and closing of the globe disc, the sealing surface can withstand multiple opening and closing, so it is suitable for occasions requiring frequent switching.

The use of globe valve is very common, but due to the large opening and closing torque, long structure length, usually nominal diameter is limited to below 250mm, but also to 400mm, but special attention should be paid to the import and export direction when choosing. Generally, the globe valve medium below 15Omm mostly flows from the lower part of the disc, and the globe valve medium above 2O0mm mostly flows from the upper part of the disc. This is due to the closing torque of the valve. In order to reduce the opening or closing torque, the general 2O0mm or more than the globe valve is equipped with internal bypass or external bypass valve.
