Biopsy needle matters needing attention

(1) The sampling site should be accurate, necrotic tissue or obvious secondary infection area should be avoided, and the sampling site should be taken at the junction of the lesion and normal tissue. The lesion tissue and a few surrounding normal tissues should be taken, and their size should generally be 1.5cm×1.5cm×0.2cm.

(2) Sampling should have a certain depth, which requires a vertical incision parallel to the depth of the lesion. Gastric mucosal biopsy should include mucosal muscle layer.

(3) Each layer of tube wall should be taken for lumen specimens; The specimen with capsule should be taken as far as possible; Lymph nodes and other accessory tissues should be sampled for microscopic observation.

(4) When cutting or forceps, avoid squeezing and use of tweezers, so as not to affect the diagnosis due to tissue deformation.

(5) If the diameter of living tissue is less than 0.5cm, it must be wrapped with transparent paper or gauze to avoid loss.

(6) The bone-containing tissues should be collected after decalcification treatment.
