Biopsy Needle Cleaning Procedure

1. Preparation

1) Multi-enzyme lotion, syringe, high pressure normal water, air gun, pin sander or cotton swab.

2) Protective equipment: waterproof apron, protective clothing, eye mask.

2. Rinse

Method 1: Rinse, dip enzyme, rinse

1) Separate the puncture needle core and the drainage tube.

2) Rinse the blood in the needle cavity with high-pressure normal water and soak in the multi-enzyme solution for 10-20min.

3) Fill the needle cavity with the enzyme solution with a syringe, soak it for 10-20 minutes, and then rinse off the enzyme solution with high-pressure normal water.

4) After soaking, rinse off the enzyme solution with normal water, rinse with blood, and fill the needle cavity with the enzyme solution.

Method 2: Ultrasonic cleaning

1) Put the puncture needle with the core removed into the instrument basket.

2) Put the instrument basket in the ultrasonic cleaner for 3-5 minutes.

The puncture needle is placed ≥2cm below the liquid surface of the ultrasonic machine, the water temperature is 40-45℃; the ultrasonic time is 3-5min.

Method 3: Disinfect and rinse

1) Sterilize by boiling for 10 minutes: Time for 10 minutes after boiling and sterilize, and pay attention to filling the lumen with boiling water.

2) Soak in 500mg/l chlorine-containing disinfectant for 20-30min.

When soaking, the needle plug should be filled with disinfectant, and the disinfectant should be replaced regularly to prevent the puncture needle from rusting due to the long soaking time. After the disinfection, rinse the disinfectant inside and outside the puncture needle with normal water.

Irrigation quality evaluation: The puncture needle has no cleaning agent and disinfectant residue.

3. Grinding and needle tip inspection

1) sanding

Grind the needle bolt, check the needle tip, and use a grindstone to polish the needle tip if necessary; wrap a little cotton on the grinding head, put on the needle bolt, and start the grinder; dry the blood scab and rust, or use a cotton swab for washing.

2) Needle tip inspection

Try hooking the needle point on the gauze, or check with a magnifying glass, and grind the needle point with a grindstone if necessary. There is no trace or rust on the part of the needle bolt, the metal is bright, and the needle tip has no hook. Needles that do not meet the requirements must be discarded.

4. Rinse and fine wash

1) Rinse repeatedly with running water and high-pressure normal water

Rinse the puncture needle and needle core repeatedly with flowing normal water, and flush the needle cavity with a high-pressure water gun. The needle cavity was flushed for 30s each time; no disinfectant remained on the puncture needle after flushing. The water from the needle cavity is in a straight line.

2) Finally, rinse the inside and outside of the needle cavity with distilled or purified water

Hold the puncture needle and instrument in flowing distilled water or purified water to rinse repeatedly, and then rinse the needle cavity with pressurized distilled water or purified water for 30 s. After the fine cleaning, cover all parts of the puncture needle; the finely washed puncture needle and needle The core has no hard water residue, the water flow is in a straight line when flushing, the needle bolt part is free of scale and rust, and the metal is bright.

5. Drying, incoming packaging area

1) dry

Place the puncture needle in a drying box and dry it at 70-90°C for 20-30min. After drying, it is transferred to the packaging area.

2) Packaging

Put the puncture needle in a metal box with a lid and put it in a dry box; check visually or with the aid of a magnifying glass that the puncture needle has no hooks, no stains, no rust, and the metal is bright, the needle bolt is matched with the needle core, and the drainage tube is clean, free of water droplets, no leakage, No sticking.
