Two, the physical properties of titanium
1. Low density: the density of titanium is 4.51g/cm3, about 1/4 of gold (19.38/cm3), 1/2 of cobalt chromium alloy (8.5g/cm3). Therefore, titanium denture can reduce the burden of oral hard and soft tissue, which is beneficial to oral health care.
2. Low thermal conductivity: &n
BSP; The thermal conductivity of titanium (16.3-18W /m.℃) is only 1/17 of that of gold, so titanium ingot and titanium crown have the advantages of protecting pulp tissue from hot and cold stimulation.
3. Small linear shrinkage: The linear shrinkage of titanium is 1.75%, lower than cobalt-chromium alloy (2.13-2.24%), stainless steel (1.95±0.15%) and gold (1.76%), so titanium denture is very suitable.
4. Semi - resistive to X-ray: X-ray photos can show the pathological changes of tooth tissue in titanium crown.
5. Non-magnetic: Titanium denture will not be magnetized in a strong magnetic field.
