After ligament soft tissue injury, the first step is to stop the activity of the affected area and elevate the affected limb to avoid the movement of the injured joint. Secondly, if the affected area is swollen and painful, cold compress is needed to help reduce local temperature and reduce blood circulation. Finally, if the area of the injury is bleeding, you can apply bandage pressure to stop the bleeding.

Second, repair the ligament. Ligament soft tissue injury should be dealt with in time, otherwise it may cause damage to articular cartilage, meniscus and so on, and then cause arthritis. If the ligament injury is mild, suture repair can be selected; if the soft tissue damage is serious, surgery may be required to transfer the adjacent tendon, fascia and other tissues for repair and reconstruction. Severity and specific diagnosis need to go to the hospital orthopedic examination after diagnosis to judge treatment.

Third, avoid weight bearing on body parts. Due to the injury of ligament soft tissue will lead to bleeding and edema, resulting in swelling, congestion and obvious spasm of the injured ligament, resulting in limited flexion and extension of the joint. Therefore, it is necessary to avoid the weight-bearing of the affected limb, so as not to cause secondary injury due to the traction of the injured ligament soft tissue, which is not conducive to the future repair.

Fourth, surgical treatment. Surgical treatment for open soft tissue injury is usually performed within 6 to 8 hours after the injury, and some cephalosporin antibiotics are taken after surgery to prevent suppurative infection. In addition, we should pay attention to the regular dressing change after surgery, do not get wet to avoid infection.
