What Does Biopsy Needle Mean

The full name of biopsy needle is histopathological examination, mainly for space-occupying lesions. When the nature of thyroid nodules and breast nodules is unclear, part of the tissue needs to be taken off for microscopic pathological examination. For example, part of the tissue can be taken off for pathological section through puncture to determine whether the nodules are benign or malignant.
Another example is lymph node enlargement, the nature is unclear, may be lymphadenitis or lymph node tumor, lymph node resection can be done pathological section to check for clarity. In addition, intestinal biopsy can also be performed. For example, when nodules are found under endoscopy, a part of the nodules can be taken out for pathological examination to clarify the nature of intestinal nodules.
