Transabdominal Villus Biopsy Needle
Nov 09, 2022
During the transabdominal villus biopsy, the bladder was moderately filled and the pregnant woman was placed in supine position. Before the operation, the appropriate insertion point was selected for ultrasound examination. Special attention was paid to not damaging the small intestine during the insertion. After the needle insertion point was selected, the skin was disinfected and the sterile surgical hole towel was covered. Under the real-time ultrasonic monitoring, the biopsy needle entered the placenta through the abdomen and myotomyme of the pregnant woman, and the traveling distance of the biopsy needle in the placenta was extended as far as possible. After placing the needle in place, aspirate with a 20ml syringe containing 3-4 mL cell transfer solution. The sample is likely to be successful when a little blood is seen entering the catheter. The contents of the biopsy needle were transferred into the cell culture medium to check the amount of villi obtained by the syringe at negative pressure. Unlike transcervical villi biopsy, transabdominal villi biopsy can obtain more villi tissue by changing the Angle of the needle and taking more samples.
