The home-use segment is the fastest-growing market. As consumers' awareness of "effective skin care" increases, more and more people hope to receive professional-level care at home. Home microneedle devices need to address two major pain points: safety and effectiveness. In terms of safety, the needle length is strictly limited to below 0.3mm to ensure it does not harm the dermis layer; in terms of effectiveness, the accompanying essence liquid has been specially formulated to work in synergy with the microneedle channels. By leveraging 3D scanning and 3D printing technologies, future microneedle devices will be able to tailor a unique arrangement and depth distribution of the needles based on an individual's facial contours, skin thickness, and lesion location, thus achieving true precision medicine.
The regulatory environment is also gradually improving. The China National Medical Products Administration has classified some microneedle devices as Class II medical devices and requires them to undergo clinical evaluation and registration testing. The European Union and the US FDA have also issued corresponding guidelines. Robust regulation helps eliminate inferior products and promotes the healthy development of the industry.
The future of microneedle treatment devices is not merely about "better needles," but rather a comprehensive platform that integrates diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring. When these devices become intelligent enough, safe enough, and affordable enough, they will, like today's smartphones, become daily companions for everyone's health management.
