Sciatic nerve block is one of the local anesthesia. Local anesthetics were injected near the sciatic nerve to temporarily block the conduction function of the sciatic nerve and achieve painless operation in the area innervated by the sciatic nerve. The sciatic nerve is composed of the anterior branches of the lumbo4 to the sacral 3. It is the largest nerve in the body. After it exits the pelvis from the foramina magnus of the piriformis muscle, it is located in the deep side of the gluteus maximus and descends to the back of the thigh through the greater trochanter of the femur and the tuberosity of the sciatic bone. The puncture point between the piriformis and the superior gemellus is often used for sciatic nerve block. Methods There were two methods: lateral and supine sciatic nerve block.
