Is Kidney Puncture Needle Dangerous
Nov 28, 2022
Renal needle biopsy is a traumatic procedure and risks are certainly present, the most common being bleeding. The incidence of microscopic hematuria in renal biopsy is 100%, but the incidence of gross hematuria is rare. If there is light red hematuria, there is no need to panic as long as the patient has no obvious low back pain, stable blood pressure and no fever. The patient's vital signs can be closely monitored and the blood routine situation can be dynamically reviewed. As long as the vital signs and blood routine are stable and the color of the urine gradually fades, the hematuria may disappear within a day or two or a week. Some patients with obvious back pain, fever, arteriovenous fistula or infection after renal puncture need to cooperate with the doctor, observe closely, and deal with any situation actively, and there will be no major problems. Most hematuria or slight gross hematuria under renal biopsy microscope will occur in 1-3 days, which can be eliminated by supine rest and fluid rehydration support, and very few patients will have massive bleeding. After renal puncture, vital signs should be closely monitored and urine volume observed. Doctors, nurses and patients' family members should not be careless.
