Jan 30, 2023

Paravertebral nerve block needle is a treatment method, it is mainly used for lumbar disc herniation, lumbar stenosis caused by low back and leg pain. It can also be used for diagnostic treatment. For example, when a specific segment is protruding, a lumbar spinal block can be performed before the operation of foraminoscopy. If the patient is in remission, it indicates that the segment is diseased. It involves injecting the long-acting anesthetic ropivacaine mixed with a small amount of a hormone, such as methylprednone, into the nerve roots through a lumbar puncture to reduce swelling and inflammation in the nerve roots, thereby reducing the associated symptoms of lower back pain and leg pain. After the injection, the pain at the corresponding level will be relieved due to the action of a local anesthetic, a small amount of hormones can promote the repair of nerve root damage, and can prevent local nerve root adhesion resulting in compression.
